Red Lion Spicy Foods Logo Flaming Pinto Chili

 

2 lbs. ground beef (80/20 ground chuck works well)
1 lb. Cajun sausage
2 tbs. olive oil
1 large white onion, chopped
1 large red bell pepper, chopped
1 large green bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes with jalapeno chiles
1 14 oz. can chicken broth
1 4 oz. can chopped green chiles
3 tbs. Red Lion Spicy Foods Company Red Seal hot sauce
1/4 cup black coffee
1 package Red Lion Spicy Foods Company XX Hot Chili Powder
1 tbs. cumin
2 15.5 oz. cans pinto beans, drained

 

In a large pot, brown the beef, drain and set aside.
Remove sausage from casing, and break into pieces.
Brown the sausage, breaking into smaller pieces as it cooks. Drain and set aside.
Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic, saute for 5 minutes.
Add red and green bell peppers, saute another 3 minutes.
Add tomatoes, chicken broth, green chiles, hot sauce, coffee, chili powder,
beef and sausage to the pot. Bring to a boil, Reduce heat and simmer for 90 minutes.
Add cumin and beans. Simmer an additional 30 minutes, and serve.
