3 lbs. 85/15 ground chuck
2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
4 tbsp. Red Lion Spicy Foods Competition Blend Chili Powder, divided evenly
3 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, divided 3 tsps. and 1/2 tsp.
3 1/2 tsp. onion powder, divided 3 tsps. and 1/2 tsp.
4 tsp. cumin, divided 3 tsps. and 1 tsp.
1 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 14.5 oz. can beef broth
2 tsp. instant chicken bouillon granules
2 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules
2 inch slice of Jimmy Dean Zesty Hot sausage
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 16 oz. can pinto beans, undrained
1 lime
1 4.5 oz. can chopped green chiles
1 packet Sazon Goya
1 tsp. granulated brown sugar
1 tbsp. sour cream
1 tsp. Louisiana-style hot sauce Chicken broth

 

In a large frying-pan, melt the shortening. Add the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce,
sesame oil, kosher salt, white pepper and -
1 tbsp. Red Lion Spicy Foods Competition Blend Chili Powder
Cook until the meat is browned.

 

While the meat is browning, in a 4 or 6 quart pot combine the beef broth, chicken granules,
beef granules, sausage and -
1 tbsp. Red Lion Spicy Foods Competition Blend Chili Powder
3 tsp. garlic powder
3 tsp. onion powder
Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to a simmer. Drain the ground beef and add to the pot.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

 

Remove the sausage and add the tomato sauce, pinto beans, juice from the lime and -

1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder

 

Simmer for 15 minutes, then add the green chiles, Sazon Goya, brown sugar, sour cream, hot sauce and -
1 tbsp. Red Lion Spicy Foods Competition Blend Chili Powder
3 tsps. cumin
Simmer for 15 minutes. If chili has become too thick, add chicken broth to adjust consistency.
Serve with warm flour tortillas, shredded cheese and pickled jalapenos.
